A few things...

First and foremost, I want to speak of how sometimes life just sucks. Last night, Alyssa Smith's house burned down and she has nothing. She's an editor for Sterling Books. A website has been started in which donations are accepted to assist. We did it for Nashville. We can do it for someone in the biz, too. I suck at linkage, so here it is:

http://rosefox.livejournal.com/1614322.html?format=light

In fact, I'd be awesome if they did another auction of agents' assistance. I'm sure thousands would be raised.

Secondly, and on a lighter note, I gave forced my daughter my first 10 chapters of my WIP for her input on the YA-ness of it. She left me a note on my desk that I got when I got home from work. It reads:

Started Around: 7:50 - 8:07

Finished: 1:01 pm

...I loves it...

LOL! In your face!!

That's exactly what it said. It made me giggle, so I thought I'd share.

Also, don't forget about my contest, folks!

The link is thus:

Everyone have a great Wednesday!

Your daughter is funny! Maybe she is a lot like my little turd at home. ;-)

Oh, and the conest. I almost forgot! I need to put something together for that. It will be from scratch, so I hope it doesn't totally suck!

First of all--new follower! *waves*

I don't know why I haven't found your blog before this, since I see your comments all over the place (we must follow a lot of the same blogs) but I've found you now! (cue ominous music).

Thanks for the linkage. That's horrible about the fire. I'll hop over there next. And congrats on the positive feedback. Pleasing a teenager is no easy task, so it sounds like you have a great MS on your hands.

Anyway, it was nice to meet you. I look forward to getting to know you better through your posts. I'll confess, I do a lot of my blog hopping at work, so I'm not always able to comment. But I'm excellent at lurking. So if you don't see me it doesn't mean I'm not around. ;)

Happy Wednesday!

ugh i couldn't even imagine losing my house and my stuff. I get so attached to material things. Or god, my pets. makes me sick just thinking about it.

Also, that note, is HILarious!

I love the In your face bit - reminds me of my youngest sister

Yo, peeps. Yes, fire is my biggest fear. I am not going to say anything else that might jinx me.

I'm glad y'all were amused by my daughter's note. I sure was. She's such a ham. I take it with a grain of salt, of course. We're supposed to when they're relatives, right? :-)

That would make me giggle too! And make my day.

I love your daughter's note! I don't know about taking it with a grain of salt. My teenage daughter is definitely more critical of anything mom-related than the general public. I can do no right in her eyes, it seems.

So sorry to hear about that fire - how awful for her.

Damn. I hate when people lose everything in a house fire. And damn again because I'm broke right now, but am penning a note to go to that site when hubby gets paid.

On the positive note, good for you! Glad your kiddo likes your work. :D

Thanks for sharing Alyssa's story. That sucks. Will check it out.

Looking forward to entering your contest!!

My own home burned down -- with me in it. Is Alyssa all right physically. Emotionally she is not, of course.

You're right. Sometimes life sucks.

A good friend is dying, and I am trying to be there for her. I am going through the motions in the rest of my life.

I know my blog must read odd. I feel odd.

I thought you would be entering the top title blogfest. I was looking forward to reading yours, Roland

I adore the note your daughter left you! What a treasure. :) I hope you save it forever, right over your computer.

Love,
Lola

That note from your daughter is priceless -- literally. Her pride in you is in your face and her love for you is in your heart. What a great combination. Roland
