Tahereh's Contest




I'm fulfilling the requirements of the contest and blogging about it. So there.

Actually, it's a fun contest for those of you who can rhyme efficiently. I cannot. I wrote several pages of prose in two days. It took four days to write six stanzas. Crappy stanzas at that. I've written (maybe) less than five rhyming poems in the last fifteen years. I just don't do it. It feels forced from me. "OMG, something HAS to rhyme with evangelist!" Yeah, I don't roll that way.

BUT, I tried. That's all that matters, right?

    I think that's about all I'm good for. I might hurt my brain if I try too hard.

    LOL. I could probably do something with evangelist and terrorist in the same stanza ;-) I'd have a bit of trouble with evangelist and grocery list, though.

    Aubrie: I'm just really bad at it. I posted what I wrote, but it's pretty pathetic compared to others there.

    Lass: Yes, I think trying counts in this case.
    Although Yoda's 'do or do not, there is no try' keeps playing in my head.

    Jemi: I've stored it away for inspiration.

    Sarah: I sucked but did it anyway. You should go suck, too. :-)

    I can rhyme, spent years singing. I think that is why. BUT dislike rhyming stuff in general. I far prefer your writing style (from your Rants) to a rhyme anytime. :)

    On my way to check out the rhymes. You talked me into it. I am doubtful..
